FAQs

Before diving into the following FAQs, it is important to understand sā not simply as an exhibition, but as an evolving cultural and ecological conversation rooted in Ladakh. Conceived as a contemporary art biennale with a regenerative ethos, sā brings together artists, communities, researchers, practitioners and audiences through site-responsive projects, public programmes and collaborative exchanges unfolding across the Leh–Kargil corridor. Grounded in the Ladakhi word sā, meaning “soil”, the Biennale approaches land not only as geography, but as memory, knowledge, material and living context, inviting slower, more attentive ways of engaging with art, ecology and the interconnected realities shaping the region today.

Note

sā Ladakh Biennale approaches communication through openness, transparency, and non-extractive exchange. We welcome media houses, independent storytellers, researchers, photographers, and social media practitioners to engage with the Biennale in ways that are thoughtful, self-directed, and respectful of its sites, communities, and regenerative ethos. Official updates and press materials will be shared through our website and channels, and we are always happy to connect for conversations or inquiries.
